  • Refer you to support groups, classes and other programs for information and support
  • Provide literature on coping with cancer, what to expect during chemotherapy and radiation and dealing with side effects of treatment
  • Identify activities that can help you ensure a better quality of life
  • Listen and care, and help you in your time of need

About The American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program

The American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program provides guidance for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers to help them navigate the cancer experience, with a focus on eliminating barriers to cancer care for the medically underserved.

The American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program at Providence Regional Cancer Partnership links those affected by cancer to patient navigators who serve as personal guides for patients as they face the psychological, emotional and financial aspects of their unique cancer experience.

There are currently more than 60 American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program sites across the country. With support from AstraZeneca, the American Cancer Society plans to open at least 50 new Patient Navigator Program sites over the next five years in communities throughout the United States.
