  • Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

    Honor breast cancer survivors, remember people we have lost and raise much-needed funds and awareness to help end this disease.


    Join the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership to celebrate survivorship and make strides of hope to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive 5K walk that raises funds to fight breast cancer. This walk gives people of all ages the opportunity to honor breast cancer survivors, remember people we have lost and raise funds and awareness to help end this disease.

    There is no registration fee or minimum fundraising amount.

    Proceeds from this 5k race are donated to the Linda Baltzell Patient Assistance Fund at the Cancer Partnership.

    Lace up your running shoes and help those fighting cancer. One hundred percent of Run of the Mill proceeds are donated to the Linda Baltzell Patient Assistant Fund at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership. Last year, the Run of the Mill raised over $38,000.

    The Run of the Mill is a 5k race that begins in the Mill Creek Town Center and winds through town. Participation is limited to 2,000 runners, so register now to guarantee your spot. This fun, family event is open to all ages and skill levels.

    Event Details:
    Date: Saturday, July 10, 2010. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Race begins at 9:30 a.m.
    Adult Registration (16 and over): $20 early registration (through 6/30), $35 late registration
    Youth Registration (15 and under): Pay your age

  • Free Skin Cancer Screening : June 5, 2010

    Make an appointment to get a free skin cancer screening by a qualified provier.

    This program provides a free skin screening for individuals who are not currently being followed by a dermatologist. This screening involves a full body examination if the skin to assess any worrisome moles of lesions by a qualified provider. The exam takes less than 10 minutes to complete. A list of referral physicians will be available for those who need further follow-up care.

    When: Saturday, June 5, 2010 - 8:00 a.m. to noon
    Where: Providence Regional Cancer Partnership, Third Floor, Medical Oncology Department
    Facilitator: Dr. San-Hwan Chen

  • Relay for Life: May 22 - 23, 2010

    Walk to celebrate, remember, and fight back in an ongoing battle against cancer.

    Join Relay for Life and Help Fight Cancer

    Walk or run in the 2010 Relay for Life with the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership and the American Cancer Society to help bring an end to cancer. Teams will camp out at Cascade High School in Everett and take turns walking or running around the track to raise much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

    Relay for Life will be held May 22-23, 2010. Because cancer never sleeps, Relay for Life is an overnight event that lasts 24 hours; teams are asked to have a representative on the track at all times.
